PENNSYLVANIA CONVENTION CENTER: LOADING DOCK REPAIRS

PENNSYLVANIA CONVENTION CENTER: LOADING DOCK REPAIRS

Location

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Owner

Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority (PCCA)

The Bridge Repair at the Pennsylvania Convention Center focused on restoring the loading dock bridge along Race Street. The project involved the demolition and replacement of deteriorated plaster walls, soffit finishes, and steel framing, with new aluminum metal plate wall panels and an aluminum grille soffit installed in their place. Additionally, fireproofing was upgraded with intumescent coatings, and critical waterproofing repairs were made by replacing concrete curbs, trench drains, and expansion joints. Despite the complexity of the work, the convention center remained fully operational, requiring careful coordination to maintain access to walkways, exits, and loading areas while minimizing disruption to daily operations. This project successfully enhanced the structural integrity of the loading dock bridge, improving both its safety and functionality for long-term use.
