The John F. Scarpa Academic Center is a three-story, 62,000 SF academic and community hub which is part of Stockton University’s Atlantic City Gateway Project. The facility supports professional studies, student life, public engagement, and community programming on the Atlantic City campus.
Designed to meet LEED Silver standards, the building features a durable exterior palette of limestone at the base and terra cotta rainscreen panels in three through-bodied colors on the upper levels. Inside, a prominent atrium creates an open, active gathering space. The first floor is open to the public and includes indoor and outdoor dining areas, a 200-seat café, and a 130-seat exterior plaza that helps connect the campus with the surrounding community.
The center accommodates approximately 1,800 students and includes 14 classrooms, student lounges, faculty administrative offices, and academic spaces supporting Hospitality and Tourism, Business, Social Work, and Organizational Leadership. It also includes the 240-seat Fannie Lou Hamer Event Room, a flexible venue for university functions and community events.
