Project Size
The Vehicle Storage Facility project is a 50,200 SF building consisting of 19,250 SF of office space, 16,100 SF of vehicle garage and storage, and a 14,800 SF elevated parking deck.
The building is situated on a re-use site and included the demolition of a 40,000 SF 2-story building. Once demo was completed, over 5,500 cubic yards of contaminated soil was excavated, disposed of, and backfilled with recycled material. Once a TCO was obtained, the original office building was then demolished and provided room for additional parking and a ramp to the elevated parking deck.
The office building houses various County offices, the County Schools Superintendent, and the Rutgers Cooperative Program. The garage bays house the County Police, the County sheriff, County Emergency Management Vehicles, and the County SWAT Vehicles.
This project has been designated and has received LEED Silver certification using energy conscious construction methods including site re-use, photovoltaic system, a geothermal heating and cooling system, 90% waste recycling, high efficiency lighting systems, and efficient building controls.
