ALBANY GREEN ENERGY BIOMASS-FUELED COGENERATION FACILITY
Location
Albany, Georgia
Owner
EPC Contractor
Constellation Energy and Procter & Gamble developed a 54 MW biomass-fueled cogeneration facility at the company’s Family Care manufacturing site in Albany. DCO Energy served as the EPC contractor for the project.
The completed combined heat and power facility was designed to supply the P&G Albany plant with approximately 425,000 pounds per hour of process steam while generating up to 350,000 MWh of baseload renewable electricity for Georgia Power. The system utilizes a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler delivering steam to a turbine generator producing 54 MW, with steam extraction supporting industrial process needs.
