In the spring of 2006 Pennsylvania Power & Light decided to install a 24–inch diameter HDPE pipeline from their Montour Power Plant facility to the Susquehanna River.
Joseph Jingoli and Son, Inc. was awarded the contract to install the 12-mile long pipeline. The pipeline stretches through two counties and many different types of terrain.
Several installation methods and techniques will be used to install the pipeline through 26 stream crossings, 3 railroad crossings, and 10 state road crossings. In addition to the complexities presented by the different crossings, Jingoli Construction will install the pipeline through wetlands, farmland, and small towns. The pipeline terminates in the Susquehanna River where Jingoli Construction will install nearly 100–feet of the special diffuser pipeline in a trench through the river bottom.
