Construction consists of expansion and renovation of the existing 11-year-old Pennsylvania Convention Center located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. The new 930,000 square foot expansion will include a dramatic 120-foot tall glass curtain wall entryway along Broad Street with full height atrium, 540,000sf of contiguous exhibit hall space, a new 55,000 square foot ballroom, meeting rooms, offices, new mechanical room and associated utility and support spaces.
Renovation of the existing convention center will consist of demolition and reconstruction of approximately 30,000 S.F. of the back of the house support spaces.
The final portion of the project will be to receive and install furniture, furnishings and equipment.
The Convention Center expansion is a massive venture representing the largest capital project in the history of Pennsylvania.
