The scope of this project was the design/build of a “no blue sky” modification to the existing target range, to prevent stray bullets from leaving the site. The project entailed installing a full trellis and a new tower. The trellis was fabricated on site with large timber columns embedded in concrete foundations, with steel joist supporting baffles fabricated from ballistic steel and wood. The tower is a cable stayed timber pole structure 30’ tall, with a shooting platform and associated baffles. The modifications were inspected and approved by an independent range consultant, and completed in time for training to resume in accordance with regulatory requirements.
