Design / Build of an underground leachate collection system to accommodate G.R.O.W.S. landfill expansion. Work included 5000 LF of dual containment HDPE pipe in cuts ranging from 15 to 30 feet. To facilitate this installation, the pipes were installed in a slurry trench.
In conjunction with this work, an additional 2000 LF of dual containment pipe was installed by means of open cut. Additionally a 25 x 15 x 30’ deep cast in place reinforced concrete leachate collection box was installed by means of a freeze wall to eliminate sheeting and ground water pumping.
